Finally, someone has come out against the HPV vaccine (Gardasil) that has been marketed to the skies.
Facts:
There are at least 100 forms of Human Papilloma Virus.
Gardasil vaccinates against 4 of these.
There is only an association between HPV and cervical cancer.
This association is most commonly seen in women with suppressed immune systems (think transplant patients).
There have been DEATHS from this vaccine.
3500 women a year die from cervical cancer in the United States. Of hundreds of millions of people. That number is decreasing every year as more women get PAP smears and pelvic exams every year. (Heads up--I thought once you'd had enough normal PAP smears, you could skip that appointment every few years altogether. Not so. Pelvic exams are recommended EVERY YEAR. Dang it.)
This has been a public service announcement. Please don't get this vaccine. It's painful, has some unexpected (and probably some undocumented) unpleasant side effects. It's a waste of money, and it's stupid in my mind to support the pharmaceutical companies searching for vaccines they can make lots of money off of by preying on our worst fears.

Emily! I watched that too :) I was also very happy that she had someone on there talking about that. I have to tell you too that later in the show they were doing something with putting your hand over your heart...i don't remember exactly what it was, but Jeremy walked in the room and started doing it...and I got a great picture of him--haha! I'm going to post it soon. So Oprah was good to me twice today!
