TEETH

Everybody would like nice ones.

Hence the reason why I have asked favors of most of my good friends, so that I can spend 3 1/2 hours driving or in the dentist's chair.

I just had my second of what looks like four appointments.

I had a chunk of tooth fall out the night of Leo's birthday. I went to get it fixed, and had another small cavity filled in the process.

Today I went for a cleaning and x-rays, where the dentist found five (!!!) more. I don't get it; the hygienist and the dentist said my teeth look really good, free of plaque, they can tell I've been flossing, etc. But FIVE?

Lame. So two more appointments to get those taken care of, since right now we have a wonderful bishop who is kind enough to do it at cost for us.

LAME. Wonderful, I'm grateful, but LAME.

It's because of the non-flouridated water.
You know, precious bodily fluids and all of that.
I'm going in after Christmas. I haven't been in, well, a long time (I'm scared!)

Hey! Just thought I'd throw my two cents in here. My brother in law is a dentist and he says that pregnancy and nursing kill your teeth. The calcium gets depleted for the baby....so chances are, those little handsome boys in your life are the ones to blame for the cavities! Good thing we love babies so much, huh?! Ask your dentist about MI-Paste. It is awesome!

Isn't Bishop great! He helped me out, too, when my crown came off. It is a bit of a drive but so worth it knowing that they aren't trying to make stufff up just to drain your wallet and fill their pockets! I don't like to go to dentists I don't have referrals to and even then the guy who did my root canals both Bishop and my regular dentist I grew up going to gasped when they saw my crowns and said what a bad job it was. Yikes! I even had a referral from a friend for that guy! I also think there is something to do with the non-flouridated water. Every time I came up from AZ to go to school in UT, I would come home with a cavity. I hadn't had a cavity in any of my adult teeth until I went to moved to UT for the first time when I was 20 and then I didn't have any once I moved down to AZ and then as soon as I move back to UT 9 months later the dentist was shocked that I had a dental appt 8 months before with no signs of anything!

I figure that I'll just have dentures when I get older if my teeth keep going they way they are -2 root canals while pregnant with T and major sensitive teeth prone to more cavities with S and all the banging and jumping of heads right into my mouth =D - But those commercials with Mike Ditka and his dental implants give me hope that I won't be the scary grandma with her teeth sitting in a cup next to the sink! lol
