Josh just decided last week that he will be pursuing a Master's Degree, and then we'll move back East to get his PhD. This means a little over two more years here, and then four (possibly five) years back East going to school.
He'll be just barely thirty when we're done, and by then I'm willing to bet we'll have four kids. Lots of student loans, although hopefully not too many. And if all goes well, with a job as a professor we'll have them paid off within a year or two of graduation. Or do they call it matriculation? I don't even know!
At any rate, it means that to stay home with my baby (and any future babies) I do a lot of economizing.

WELCOME! YOU ARE SOOOOO IN MY SHOES. It gives me goosebumps to see how alike we are. That's why I'm so excited about WOPS and I'm so GLAD you've joined!
My husband went straight from undergrad to masters and is now in his PhD - all in electrical engineering... doing something... with satellites... :-P
(I was elementary education.)
(Which is perfect, because now I stay at home with our two babies.)
(And like you, I wonder how many more we'll have before the Daddy graduates.)
And I UNDERSTAND the economizing. We use cloth diapers, don't use the dryer, even made my own detergent for awhile until I found I could get most my household things for FREE from CVS. Now I splurge on the Aldi brand detergent - $1.99. :-)
Stay in touch! I'll be frequenting your blog to see how you're doing.
you must be l.d.s too- how cool is that- a fellow mormon wops sister
my hubby is working on his ph.d. at NMSU and he got his undergrad at byu. We've been in school since we got married (which is going on 7 years) we're hoping to graduate this year- we are so ready to be done. we've got two kids and a few loans. good luck on your journey- we'll keep in touch- yay for W.O.P.S
My husband is now in year 6 of his 1st masters, then wants to spend 5 years on his next masters, THEN get a PhD. He'll probably be 50 (and the kids in college) by the time he finishes!!!
