It's a BOY!

Hooray, it's a boy! I like little boys. I'm excited to have another. This way Shauna can have the first girl :-)

He looks healthy and moves quite a bit and was super cute--on the ultrasound he yawned and rubbed his eyes and face with his arm. Really sweet looking fellow.

The bad news? Partial placenta previa, meaning part of the placenta covers the cervix. So if I go into labor and it doesn't move out of the way, then the baby would die. It might move. It might not. Until it does, no heavy lifting. Translation: I can't even pick up Guy. This? This will be interesting. We can do it, but it will be interesting.

If I want, I can get an ultrasound done in 4 weeks to check and see if it's moved. If it has, the restrictions will be lifted. Problem is? I'm on Utah Medicaid. Not many hospitals, if any, accept Utah Medicaid outside of Utah. So if I don't want to pay for the ultrasound, I'll have to wait 10 weeks until we're back from our trip. I'm not sure I can wait that long.

So for now? I need to do a once-over and make sure we have everything, put away the clean dishes (thanks Mom!) and take a nap before Guy wakes up. Wish me luck.

Wow, that's intense! I hope things work out so the little man will be okay. Wish I was there to help! Good luck!

Whoa. So does this mean you would have an emergency C-section? Or is there no hope if labor starts? I'm so sorry.

Good luck in Philly.

Congrats! I'm excited for you guys--another boy :) That will be fun! Let me know if I can come over (you know, when you guys get back and we get back) and help out with anything :) Love you!

I had partial placenta previa this time with Bradley, but everything moved before he came. I had an ultrasound at 36 weeks to verify it. They didn't say anything about heavy lifting though. I wonder if yours is different. Congrats on the boy.

Congrats on the boy! I'm excited for you! Hopefully the placenta will move up though in the next few months - but, if not, it's a good thing for modern medicine that can detect things like that, huh? good luck on your trip and I can't wait to read about your adventures in PA!
