Happy Labor Day

Well, yesterday Josh and I were sick enough that we all stayed home from church. Stuffy noses, sinus headache on my part, etc. Not the worst sickness ever, but a little frustrating nonetheless.

Guy is currently vocalizing from his crib where he *should* be napping. The three of us are all showered and wearing clean clothes. The kitchen isn't too much of a disaster.

And I cleaned my bathroom this morning! I wiped down the walls and baseboards and everything. Three years of dust is a lot of dust on a baseboard. Yuck.

Goals for the rest of the day include cleaning out the car (which goes to the shop tomorrow! woo hoo!), finishing the dishes, and folding the laundry that we washed on Saturday.

I'm mulling over figuring out a basic daily routine for Guy and myself to follow to incorporate more reading, less TV (which is associated with higher rates of autism! yikes!), and a happier family. I'll make it work, I just need to make a basic plan.

Oh, and it's rainy. And cold. Really cold. Sweatshirts and pants cold. And really rainy. It rained almost all night and probably half the morning, off and on. Crazy! I feel bad for anybody who wanted a last barbecue!

Luckily the sun did come out and it was a beautiful end to a rainy start of the day (but it was PERFECT hiking the Y weather--we loved it). Oh yeah...and thanks for letting us play with your boy today :)

wow...if you can do all this when you're sick, I wonder what you can do when you're doing well! As far as the daily routine, it's a work in progress for Eve...we always mess it up by going to someone else's house for dinner or visiting friends, so it's basically foregoing all social interaction or having to deal with temper tantrums. Sometimes you just have to forget about the rules and have fun, but I agree: there's nothing like a consistent routine to even a toddler's mood. Good luck with that. ;)
