Axel Jay Coyne

So on Friday, I took a little trip to UNC Hospital. And at 8:07, after an awesome epidural, Axel Jay Coyne was born. He took to nursing right away (and has hardly stopped!) and was 8 lbs 10 oz and 21 inches long.

He can cry when he needs to, and sleep if he's being held, but so far he's fairly averse to being put down. Good thing Grandma is here to spoil him!

Thanks to my awesome team, Metta my doula (and neighbor), Josh, and two great midwives and a great nurse, I don't even have to worry about stitches.

Hooray! Congratulations and good luck with three boys and a graduate student. Wish I lived close enough to make you a meal and watch the boys.

Congrats Em! Especially on the no stitches part. That was the best part of Erin's birth :)

Awesome! I'm so glad things went well for you (and I know this is super late... but I'm a slacker at keeping up with folks private blogs ;) )

he's beautiful - and I love the picture of his vernix-covered bum on your squishy postpartum belly. That is precious. And so perfectly illustrates the beautiful beginning of life. :)

I hope we get to meet him some day!

Wow, I can't even believe I'm going to be doing that in a few months. Congratulations. I'm glad everything went so well.
