Having lived in Provo for several years, today was the first time I went to the farmer's market in Pioneer Park. 5th West and Center St.
I've always wanted to go, but felt a bit out of sorts going by myself. Since Josh swears he hates farmer's markets I knew I couldn't count on his company.
So this morning Guy and I made the adventure, and it was awesome! There's a great playground right next to it, so Guy had fun, too. I met a cattle rancher who sells grass-fed antibiotic and hormone free beef. We bought some cherries, an enormous head of cabbage and a big zucchini. I bought some fresh herbs and Guy got a chocolate chip cookie approximately the size of his face. You can imagine he thoroughly enjoyed that one!
I enjoyed looking at all the different vendors, and the overcast, cool weather was perfect. We'll definitely be going back

We hit the farmer's market in Solvang, CA, while on girl's week out--fabulous! They had the best nectarines, peaches, all kinds of fresh veggies, berries, flowers, sprouts, all kinds of honey including flavored spun honey, breads and even fresh crab. Yum. Too bad we don't all live there. . . I didn't bring anything home but some blueberry spun honey for dad. I did eat some nectarines and tasted the avocado honey--it was a bit like molasses. Summer is great!
We almost went to the farmer's market today too--passed it on our way to the mall. Jeremy and I went last year and loved it and my mom really wants to go next week--depending on baby status and what's going on. It's a fun scene :)
I saw the sign for it on Saturday, and we really wanted to go. I am glad to hear it was worthwhile. I can get my Josh to go with me, so we will check it out some week soon.
